Digital x-rays support accurate diagnostics and effective treatments

All Smiles Dental Studio lives up to its name; we support healthy, attractive smiles for all patients. Our dentist, Dr. Shahrokh, is aided in this mission by diagnostic tools. X-rays (radiography) represent one of the most important diagnostic tools available to our patients in and around Encinitas, California. Dr. Shahrokh has invested in the latest technologies, including digital imaging.

How digital x-rays work

This alternative to traditional “film-based” x-ray technology uses modern digital sensors and plates to create clear images of your mouth. Dr. Shahrokh can use these x-rays to see through tissue, teeth, and bone. That way, he can identify issues that might be lurking in the mouth. These issues could otherwise go undetected. Some areas of the mouth are so tiny that they cannot be seen with the naked eye. Likewise, patients may think that their mouths are perfectly fine. They won’t “self-report” pain or other troubling symptoms. Yet, “hidden” decay or early-stage gum inflammation may be present.

Frequently, oral conditions are “silent” or asymptomatic when they first develop. It is not until the condition has progressed to the point where damage may be irreparable that patients may notice bleeding, swelling, and pain. For this reason, it is critical to have the professional expertise and advanced technologies to detect these issues before they cause problems and potentially threaten the teeth and gums. It is also imperative to have the most accurate diagnosis. Clear, detailed, accurate images are a must to pinpoint problems with developing teeth and other abnormalities when they are easiest to effectively, conservatively, and affordably treat.

The many benefits of digital x-rays

Images can be shared and viewed by Dr. Shahrokh and patients quickly. This aids in his ability to empower patients with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their treatment options and dental care. Additionally, these technologies are safe. They are associated with far less radiation exposure than conventional x-rays that use film. They are inherently “eco-friendly,” too! Digital imaging does not create the waste that is produced during the process of making x-rays with film.

We may order x-rays during routine dental check-ups and on an “as needed” basis. We encourage you to contact us today to schedule your appointment at All Smiles Dental Studio in Encinitas, CA. Call (760) 232-8878.
